Renovating my Bathroom with Autodesk Fusion

V

Okay, this one's a little different. Most of my Fusion projects are for 3D printing or laser cutting, but today I used Fusion for something a little different — renovating my bathroom.

I recently bought a house (a first for me!), and as I plan some home improvements, Fusion is turning out to be very useful. In the video above, I walk you through how I used Fusion—not to make parts—but to quickly and clearly communicate layout dimensions to my contractor.

Sure, Fusion can generate fully detailed engineering drawings, but for this, I went with something a little more “quick and clean.” I also used Canva to organize images of the vanity, faucet, lights, and medicine cabinet—just to visualize everything before sketching.

Then in Fusion, I laid everything in the Sketching environment and used a generous portion of constraints. You’ll see some handy tips on sketching, dimensioning, and even converting decimals into fractions so your contractor isn’t scratching his head.

No 3D printing here, but still a super practical use of Fusion. Sometimes you just need to communicate an idea clearly—and this is miles better than a napkin sketch.
