Classroom License
Foundations of 3D Design is available for classroom, makerspace, and institutional use through annual educational licenses. This program is designed for beginners learning Autodesk Fusion and focuses on building real design skills through hands‑on, project‑based learning.

A project based course using Autodesk Fusion
Instead of disconnected tutorials, students work through a structured curriculum where they design and build a small model town called Layerville. Each project introduces core 3D design concepts while reinforcing good modeling habits and clear workflows.
Designed for Education
If you’re unsure which option is the best fit for your program, I’m happy to discuss your goals and recommend an appropriate starting point.

How the Course Works
Foundations of 3D Design uses a project-based learning approach to help students build real, transferable 3D design skills.

Students complete a sequence of ten guided design projects, each introducing new tools, techniques, and modeling concepts.

Lessons are delivered through short, clear video instruction that students can pause, rewind, or adjust to fit their own pace, making the course easy to integrate into a variety of classroom settings.

When 3D printers are available, students may print their designs and experience the full design-to-physical workflow. Upon completing all projects, students receive a certificate of completion from Desktop Makes.
What Students Say About My Teaching
“Having never used Fusion 360 before, I felt that it taught me many basics to form a really strong foundation to be able to build up on.”
— Ellie, 9th grade

“The instructions were really clear. I liked how easy it was to follow.”
— Shevy, 9th grade

“I specifically enjoyed the slow pace and the fact that the designs were all different kinds of items and not just one type of thing.”
— Yaffa, 9th grade

“I liked being able to create cool, practical objects just out of thin air. It’s like magic.”
— Elisheva, 9th grade

Meet the Instructor

Vladimir has taught thousands of students how to create their own 3D models in Autodesk Fusion through his popular online courses and educational content.
He previously led the creation and operation of a college makerspace, where he spent seven years building the program and teaching students how to turn their designs into real objects through 3D printing, laser cutting, and CNC milling. He is also a co-founder of a community makerspace and continues to be actively involved in maker education.
His work has been featured by Adafruit, Thingiverse, Hackaday, Makezine, Instructables, Shapeways, and Autodesk.
